Dedicated truck
One truck, one crew, straight to Brisbane
Some interstate movers share one truck between several customers’ jobs. We don’t. When you book Moving Folks from Melbourne to Brisbane, the truck carries your household and nothing else. We load it and leave straight for the unload, with no detours and no waiting days for someone else’s pick-up. Your furniture is in Brisbane in about 2 days, and there are no hotel nights spent waiting for it to turn up.
The same crew loads and unloads. We don’t send one person up with the truck and hire casual helpers for a few hours at the Queensland end, so one team is responsible from start to finish, and there’s no argument over who handled what if an insurance claim is ever needed. We’re owner-operated, and the owner loads every job personally, with care and precision.
- ✓A dedicated truck, with no other jobs on board

- ✓The same crew loads and unloads your move

The road between the two cities
The Newell Highway is the New South Wales section of the inland route between Melbourne and Brisbane. It is the longest highway in NSW, running more than 1,060 km from Tocumwal on the Victorian border to Goondiwindi on the Queensland border, past Parkes, Dubbo and Narrabri. Infrastructure Australia describes it as the principal freight route between the two capitals. On a trip that long, we don’t add anyone else’s pick-ups or drop-offs: the truck carries your job alone and goes straight to the unload. That’s why delivery takes as long as the drive itself, and we can share the truck’s live location so you can see where your furniture is on the way north.
A whole house in one truck
Our interstate truck is a 12-tonne truck with about 48 cubic metres of space, so a typical full house fits comfortably. We supply moving boxes at a good price, and we’ll share all our insurance documents with you. Ask any removalist for theirs before you book.
Pot plants, soil & your new garden
Queensland’s biosecurity laws restrict certain plant material, soil and related equipment coming in from other states. For those items you generally need a biosecurity certificate, which you apply for through the agriculture department in Victoria, and fees may apply. Some restrictions name Victoria specifically, such as those on pine-family plants like pine, fir, cedar and spruce. Business Queensland’s page lists the restricted items, so check before you pack anything that’s growing. Once you’re in, keep an eye on the garden: Brisbane City Council’s advice is to report fire ants at your property to the National Red Imported Fire Ant Eradication Program within 24 hours. Their nests can be in garden beds, lawns and pot plants.
